Feathers were also used for prayer and sacred ceremony and Celtic Druids also associated the feather with celestial knowledge and would wear feathered robes to communicate with the sky gods. In Ancient Egypt the feather was also symbolic of the sky gods. In Christianity, an image of three feathers which represented charity, hope and faith were made into signet rings for wax seals.

In ancient Greece, the peacock was the patron bird of the goddess Hera, the wife of Zeus and according to legend, she placed "eyes" on its feathers, symbolising protection and all-seeing knowledge and the wisdom of the heavens. Hindu mythology associates peacocks with the Goddess Lakshmi and the feathers thus represent her qualities of Abundance in all forms - wealth, friendship, health, family, beauty and loveIn dreams the symbolic meaning of feathers is travel or the ability to move more freely in life.
